| Summary, etc. | Research in the field of information and communication science (ICS) has always refused to analyze the communication process as a whole in Africa. It has just considered the mass media, a diffusionist vision of signs, ignoring the hidden communication that takes place between the visible and the invisible. This work focuses on “crypto-communication,” perceived as a process of transferring messages between the dead and the living. It attempts, through observation and surveys, to show how the forest peoples in Cameroon extend social relations in a different way than through grief and memory. Consequently, it will focus on the notion of communication devices in order to appreciate the funerary discourses and rituals that break with the idea of an inaccessible beyond. |

| Summary, etc. | Les recherches dans le domaine des Sciences de l’Information et de la Communication (SIC) ont toujours refusé d’analyser le processus communicationnel en Afrique dans son intégralité. Elles ont ainsi privilégié les médias de masse, dans une vision diffusionniste des signes. Par conséquent, la communication cachée, celle qui se fait entre le visible et l’invisible, a été ignorée. La « crypto-communication », perçue comme un processus de transfert de messages entre les morts et les vivants, fait l’objet de cet article. À travers l’observation et les enquêtes, l’article montre comment les peuples de la forêt au Cameroun prolongent les relations sociales autrement que par le chagrin et le souvenir. Les dispositifs de communication (dialogues) présentés permettront (loin de la thanatologie) d’apprécier des discours et rituels funéraires qui brisent l’idée d’un au-delà inaccessible. |
