Summary, etc. Without denying the least climate change, the articles in this issue of Herodotus show that the weather hazards caused by climate change are greatly aggravated by the exploitation methods implemented both in rich Western countries and in the countries of the global south. Indeed, their seriousness results more from the choices made by political and economic leaders than from climate change alone. This is what the geographers of this issue are trying to demonstrate, being very knowledgeable about the terrain of the cases presented and their complexity, which avoids them the simplistic generalizations of some «experts» of the climate, taken up without critical distance by the media. Another warning that may surprise: do not accept without criticism the apocalyptic speeches of activists and other ecological experts on the consequences of climate change. This does not mean that Herodotus is in the camp of climato septic, in any way, but it is useful and reasonable to be interested in the relations between nature and society and to understand where the green thinking comes from.
