520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | At a time when the model of the residential care home is being called into question in terms of its form, there seems to be little discussion surrounding its substance. Indeed, the caring dimension in residential care homes is often overlooked. Managerial thinking in these medico-social structures has placed too much emphasis on economic performance to the detriment of the social dimension. Owing to their inability to measure the important aspects of care, the indicators have sidelined care work and any possible considerations for the employees who provide it. This attack on the purpose of such professionals' commitment to their activities deprives them of their professional identity. The risk of not addressing the invisibility of care work is that it may reproduce, in a different form, the same injustices currently experienced by professionals working in residential care homes. In this study, the authors propose to model the visibility of care work in a residential care home, using Kurt Lewin's field theory. In this way, care work is made visible and the professional recognition of care workers can be restored. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
