| Summary, etc. | The objective of this article is to better understand the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in African small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly in Senegal. With this aim in mind, we conducted eleven semi-structured interviews with entrepreneurs. The results obtained from a manual thematic analysis reveal that CSR has a social and solidarity-driven dimension. Indeed, these entrepreneurs consider it an opportunity to support people on a low income by alleviating their difficulties, particularly during religious or cultural festivals. Education, significant events in the life of the entrepreneur, and their degree of involvement in society influence CSR practices within these SMEs. Finally, employee well-being also constitutes an incentive for these entrepreneurs to adopt CSR strategies, such as benefits in kind, protective equipment, and flexible working hours. |

| Summary, etc. | L'objectif de cet article est de mieux comprendre le concept de la RSE dans les PME d’Afrique, en particulier au Sénégal. Dans cette perspective, nous avons mené 11 entretiens semi-directifs avec des entrepreneurs. Les résultats obtenus à partir d'une analyse thématique réalisée manuellement révèlent que la RSE s'inscrit dans une dimension sociale et solidaire. En effet, ces entrepreneurs la définissent comme une opportunité de soutenir les personnes à faibles revenus afin d'atténuer leurs difficultés, notamment lors de fêtes religieuses ou culturelles. L'éducation, les événements marquants de la vie de l'entrepreneur ainsi que son degré d'implication dans la société, influencent les pratiques de RSE au sein de ces PME. Le bien-être des salariés constitue également un élément incitatif pour ces entrepreneurs à adopter des stratégies de RSE, telles que des avantages en nature, des équipements de protection et un horaire de travail flexible. |
