| Summary, etc. | This study examines the concept of autonomy in Western neoliberal societies, focusing on care and support institutions. Reflecting on societal transformations, particularly in psychiatry during the 1960s and 1970s, the authors trace how autonomy was historically conceptualized in relation to responsibility. In contemporary contexts, however, autonomy often becomes an injunction, leading to the “dissolution” of responsibility. Nevertheless, responsibility finds a way to “condense” at the intersubjective level, manifesting within professional teams or citizen collectives operating on the margins of society. From this condensation, the possibility arises to reterritorialize autonomy. Achieving this necessitates linking autonomy with heteronomy–a recognition of the plurality that weaves, constitutes, and surpasses us. |

| Summary, etc. | Les auteurs s’intéressent à la notion d’autonomie dans les sociétés néolibérales occidentales, en se focalisant sur les institutions dont la tâche primaire est le soin et le travail d’accompagnement. Un regard porté sur les mouvements de transformation de la société, et notamment de la psychiatrie, des années 1960-1970 permet de montrer comment la notion d’autonomie a pu historiquement être pensée dans son articulation avec la responsabilité. A contrario, dans le monde contemporain, l’autonomie tend à faire l’objet d’une injonction qui participe à dissoudre la responsabilité. Celle-ci arrive tout de même à se condenser, au niveau intersubjectif, dans les équipes professionnelles ou dans des collectifs citoyens situés en marge du socius. À partir d’une telle condensation de la responsabilité, un projet d’autonomie semble alors à même de pouvoir se reterritorialiser. Pour cela, il apparaît comme indispensable d’articuler l’autonomie à une certaine hétéronomie, cette pluralité qui nous tisse, nous constitue, et infiniment nous dépasse. |
