| Summary, etc. | Cet article traite d’abord de Robinson de Defoe en tant qu’agent économique du point de vue de l’éconocritique, car Defoe était à la fois un mercantiliste et un écrivain, et le développement du personnage, comme en témoigne l’histoire de la littérature de fiction, a convergé – dans une certaine mesure seulement – vers la constitution de l’ homo economicus comme outil indispensable de l’économie néoclassique. L’article se tourne ensuite vers la reprise de Tournier qui se livre à une écocritique transdisciplinaire à une époque où cette spécialisation n’était pas encore née. Tournier place l’économie de Defoe dans une approche holistique. Le Robinson de Tournier peut ainsi prendre des décisions « entrepreneuriales » plus importantes que celles que pouvait prendre celui de Defoe. JEL Classification : A12, B10, B5, Z11. |

| Summary, etc. | This paper first discusses Defoe’s Robinson as an economic agent from within econocriticism, because Defoe was both a mercantilist and a writer, and character development as witnessed in the history of fiction literature converged to a certain extent with the making of homo economicus as an indispensable tool of neoclassical economics. The paper then turns to Tournier’s remake that indulges in a transdisciplinary ecocritique at a time when this specialization was not yet born. Tournier places Defoe’s economics in a holistic approach. Tournier’s Robinson can thus make more important ‘entrepreneurial’ decisions that Defoe’s could not. |
