| Summary, etc. | Dominique Sarraute photographie depuis plus de quarante ans les objets de l’industrie : pièces de moteur, fibres optiques, profilés métalliques, microprocesseurs... Elle donne à voir de manière éclatante ces pièces techniques le plus souvent dissimulées aux regards du public, elle exalte leur précision et leur énergie, elle en fait le centre de visions fantasmagoriques, animées de mouvement et de lumière. Ce travail repose sur un rapport privilégié avec les industriels qui lui confient leurs objets. Dominique Sarraute a travaillé avec de grands groupes et des laboratoires de recherche : la Snecma, Rhône Poulenc, le CEA, le CNES, et, dans le domaine de l’aluminium, Pechiney, puis Rio Tinto Alcan et Constellium. Elle a présenté également de nombreuses expositions personnelles en France et en Europe. Dans cet entretien accompagné d’un portfolio, elle revient sur son parcours et les intentions qui ont guidé son travail. |

She produces dazzling displays of technical parts that are often hidden from the public eye, elevating their precision and energy, making them the centre of phantasmagorical visions full of motion and light. Her work is based on a special relationship with the manufacturers who entrust her with their parts. Dominique Sarraute has worked with major groups and research laboratories, including Snecma, Rhône Poulenc, CEA, CNES, and, in the aluminium sector, Pechiney, then Rio Tinto Alcan and Constellium. She has also created many individual exhibitions in France and Europe. In this interview, illustrated by a portfolio, she discusses her career and the aims that have guided her work. |
