| Summary, etc. | The Simplification Omnibus Package presented by the European Commission on 26 February 2025 is intended to simplify the European Green Deal and strengthen the EU’s competitiveness. The presentation of the main measures of the Simplification Omnibus Package concerning the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and the European Due Diligence shows that the expectations placed on companies are effectively simplified, if not largely eliminated. If environmental degradation has no effect on the competitiveness of companies and the productivity of the economy, the removal of environmental protection measures is undoubtedly an avenue to be explored in order to strengthen the competitiveness of companies. If this is not the case, the literature on public management can be used to try to understand the factors behind the increase in complexity and to assess possible action to promote administrative simplification in the interests of competitiveness. |

| Summary, etc. | Le paquet « Omnibus » présenté le 26 février 2025 par la Commission européenne doit permettre la simplification du Pacte vert européen et le renforcement de la compétitivité de l’UE. La présentation des principales mesures du paquet « Omnibus » concernant la publication d’informations de durabilité et le devoir de vigilance montre que les attentes envers les entreprises sont effectivement simplifiées, voire largement supprimées. Si la dégradation de l’environnement est sans effet sur la compétitivité des entreprises et sur la productivité de l’économie alors la suppression de mesures de protection de l’environnement devrait permettre de renforcer la compétitivité des entreprises. Dans le cas contraire, la littérature en management public peut être mobilisée pour chercher à comprendre les facteurs de la complexification et pour évaluer les pistes d’action en faveur de la simplification administrative au service de la compétitivité. |
