| Summary, etc. | Par la méthode des associations libres, cette étude a pour objectif d’explorer les trajets à pied comme temps et objet de socialisation chez 344 collégiens français, au moment du début de leur déplacement sans l’accompagnement des adultes. Les analyses montrent que les collégiens construisent des représentations sur le fonctionnement de l’espace routier, mais aussi sur leur statut dans cet espace, par rapport aux autres catégories d’usagers. Les représentations des trajets positifs et négatifs sont basées sur leur expérience singulière des déplacements, mais aussi sur les recommandations familiales, orientant leur peur des inconnus et du trafic. |

| Summary, etc. | Pedestrian journeys as time and objects of socialization among French secondary-school studentsDrawing on the method of free associations, this study explores the pedestrian journeys as space and object of socialization among 344 French secondary-school students, at the beginning of their mobility without adults’ accompaniment. Our analyses show that students build representations about the functioning of road space but also of their status in this space, in relation to the other users’categories. Representations of positive and negative journeys are based on their own experience, but also on recommendations from their family, orienting their fear of traffic and strangers. |
