Summary, etc. Il existe un consensus de la communauté internationale à propos du rôle déterminant de la formation et de l’éducation dans le processus de développement. Il y a, en réalité, peu de domaines où les enjeux ne soient aussi conflictuels, que ce soit en termes de valeurs et de connaissances transmises, de tensions entre l’universalisme et le particularisme, d’accès différenciés à l’école selon les catégories sociales ou de divergences entre les États et les territoires. On observe de fortes asymétries internationales, une polarisation des savoirs et une fracture scientifique entre les pays développés ou émergents et les pays pauvres pris dans les trappes à pauvreté. L’article présente (I) les dynamiques éducatives en Afrique, (II) les effets de l’enseignement sur la croissance puis (III) le rôle des politiques éducatives vis-à-vis du développement. Summary, etc. The international community generally agrees on the essential role of training and education in the development process. In fact, this is a field where conflicts arise for example, in terms of values and knowledge transmitted, tensions between universalism and singularities, differentiated access to school according socio economics groups or difference among States. We observe important international asymmetries between developed countries, emergent countries and poor countries which are in underdevelopment traps. This article will first deal with the effects of teaching about economic growth and second with the multidimensional effects of education on development.
