Summary, etc. | S’appuyant sur deux recherches doctorales qualitatives réalisées dans les early childhood dual-focused groups (groupes de la petite enfance à double objectif) australiens et anglais, cet article explore le concept de soutien lors de situations d’accueil enfant-parent. Nous avons identifié huit types d’apports à double objectif que les parents ressentent comme du soutien : amitié et réseaux sociaux, soutien relationnel, soutien par des pairs, soutien émotionnel, soutien du rôle parental, soutien informationnel, soutien par « le cercle des soins » et soutien multidisciplinaire. Dans le contexte des discours internationaux actuels sur le soutien à la parentalité dans la petite enfance, cet article discute l’importance qu’il y a à développer une compréhension plus large de la valeur de ces dispositifs à double objectif auprès des politiques, des parents et des praticiens. |

Summary, etc. | This article stems from two qualitative, doctoral research studies in Australian and English Early childhood dual-focused groups, exploring the concepts of support in shared parent and child activity. Eight key benefits of dual-focused support identified what parents experienced as supportive parenting provision : friendship and social network support, relational support, peer support, emotional support, parenting role support, information and resource support, « circle of care » support, and multidisciplinary support. In the context of current international discourses related to parent support across the early childhood landscape, the article discusses the importance of developing wider understandings about the value of dual-focused settings, amongst politicians, parents and practitioners. |
