Cet article se focalise sur cette forme de suppléance familiale dans chacun de ces deux pays. Après avoir présenté les définitions de ces recours au placement dans la famille ou l’entourage en France et en Italie, les auteures mobilisent les connaissances statistiques et les rapports qui y sont publiés. Elles abordent les questions que posent ces sollicitations de l’entourage aux travailleurs sociaux. Une grande diversité des formes de recours en Italie contraste avec les statuts français plus figés de Tiers Digne de Confiance et du tout récent « accueil durable et bénévole ». |

| Summary, etc. | The involvement of the extended family and of families’ social network is a topic that has seldom been explored in either France or Italy. This article focuses on this form of family substitute in each of these two countries. After having presented the definitions of kinship care in France and in Italy, the authors mobilize the statistical knowledge and the reports that are published there. They highlight the questions that the involvement of the extended family poses to social workers. The great diversity of kinship care arrangements in Italy contrasts with France’s stricter statutes of Tiers Digne de Confiance (TDC) and the recent possibility of “sustainable and voluntary fostering.” |
