| Summary, etc. | Cet article examine la mise en récit de l’avortement illégal dans le contexte new-yorkais des décennies 1950 et 1960, à travers les écrits autobiographiques de deux femmes artistes : les mémoires de Diane di Prima, Recollections of My Life as a Woman (2001) et la « mythobiographie » d’Audre Lorde, Zami: A New Spelling of My Name (1982). Examinant ces récits d’avortements dans toutes leurs singularités, nous montrerons comment, entre construction et réinvention de soi, ces textes font de cette expérience un épisode pivot dans le processus de subjectivation politique et artistique. Ainsi, il s’agira d’ouvrir des possibilités d’analyse autour d’un vécu relégué au silence. |

| Summary, etc. | This article examines narratives of illegal abortion in New York in the 1950s and 1960s, through the autobiographical writings of two female artists: the memoirs of Diane di Prima, Recollections of My Life as a Woman (2001) and Audre Lorde’s “biomythography”, Zami: A New Spelling of My Name (1982). By examining these tales of abortion in all their singularity, we will show how these texts, which oscillate between self-construction and self-reinvention, turn this experience into a pivotal episode in the process of political and artistic subjectification. Such an approach opens up analyses of a life experience that is usually left untold. |

| Summary, etc. | Este artículo analiza la puesta en narrativa del aborto ilegal en el contexto neoyorquino de las décadas de 1950 y 1960, a través de los escritos autobiográficos de dos mujeres artistas: las memorias de Diane di Prima, Recollections of My Life as a Woman (2001) y la « mytobiografia » de Audre Lorde, Zami: A New Spelling of My Name (1982). Al examinar sus relatos de abortos en todas sus singularidades, mostraremos como, entre construcción y reinvención de si, esos textos hacen de esta experiencia un episodio eje en el proceso de subjetivación política y artística. De esta manera, se tratará de abrir las posibilidades de análisis en torno de una vivencia relegada al silencio. |
