| Summary, etc. | Dans cette contribution, nous nous proposons d’examiner les liens entre événements biographiques, transformation identitaire et engagement dans les apprentissages chez des agriculteurs1 engagés dans un processus de conversion vers l’agriculture biologique (AB). Ce processus s’apparente, dans une certaine mesure, à un saut dans l’inconnu car l’agriculteur doit se former, redéfinir ses liens d’appartenance et repenser en profondeur son système de valeurs, ses pratiques professionnelles et son projet de vie en fonction de ses objectifs. Toutefois, à côté de ces éléments de rupture, la transformation comporte aussi des éléments de continuité, notamment en termes de patrimoine, d’attachement et de loyauté à des liens interpersonnels forts, à une communauté de pratiques. Ce double aspect de continuité et de rupture complexifie la dynamique identitaire qui accompagne cette bifurcation biographique. Nous tenterons dès lors de saisir, dans le cadre de cette conversion, les interactions entre les événements biographiques qui jalonnent ce parcours, la dynamique identitaire qui sous-tend celui-ci et l’engagement du sujet dans les apprentissages requis pour opérer la conversion. |

| Summary, etc. | In this contribution, we propose to examine the links between biographical events, identity transformation and engagement in the trainings for farmers involved in the process of conversion towards the organic farming This process can be considered, to a certain extent, as a jump in the unknown because the farmer must create, redefine his membership and reconsider his system of values in-depth, his professional practices and his life plan according to his objectives. However, beside these elements of rupture, the transformation includes also elements of continuity, in particular in terms of heritage, attachment and loyalty to strong interpersonal links and to a community of practices. This double aspect of continuity and rupture makes more complex the identity dynamics which accompanies this biographical bifurcation. We will consequently try to seize, within the framework of this conversion, the interactions between the biographical events which mark out this course, the identity dynamics which underlies this one and the engagement of the subject in the necessary trainings to operate conversion. |
