520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | In the current socio-economic context, the issue of the meaning of work is becoming a topic in relation to the rarity of work, the rationalization of tasks and the distance of concrete results from work. While the life, professional and training trajectories single out themselves, some make the choice to reconvert to artistic handicraft, in search of an ideal more in connection with their intimate inspirations. Ancient philosophers such as Plato or contemporary thinkers (Alain, 1920, Crawford, 2013), sociologists (Sennett, 2010) have praised the manual labor and arts, as well as making objects creating a link between humans (Arendt, 1983). Through the testimony of W. who has converted to cabinetmaking and has chosen to return to training to learn his trade, the article aims to better understand the processes of transformation of the individual and the way he constructs meaning in his new activity more in connection with reality and in relation with a professional community, weaving new links with the city. |
