| Summary, etc. | Despite numerous attempts at theorization across currents and eras, the category “woman” seems to remain problematic for feminist theory. While women are located on the wrong side of the gendered power balance and appear as the default counterpart to the universal male subject, they also recast femininity as a fluctuating attribute. Through a conceptual and historical overview of feminisms, this article seeks to reconnect with the subject of feminism: How, from an elusive category, that is also the object of conflict, does the feminist movement manage to organize a political and collective struggle? |

| Summary, etc. | Malgré de nombreuses tentatives de théorisation à travers les courants et époques, la catégorie « femme » semble demeurer problématique pour la théorie féministe. Les femmes, positionnées du mauvais côté de la balance de pouvoir, considérées comme le pendant par défaut du sujet masculin universel, remettent aussi sur le métier la féminité comme attribut fluctuant. À travers un panorama conceptuel et historique des féminismes, l’article cherche à renouer le fil d’un sujet du féminisme : comment, à partir d’une catégorie fuyante et objet de conflit, le mouvement féministe parvient-il à organiser une lutte politique et collective ? |
