| Summary, etc. | Au Québec, comme ailleurs dans le monde, il est de plus en plus privilégié de recourir à des « personnes significatives » (PS) comme milieu de placement. De façon explicite, la Loi québécoise de la protection de la jeunesse (LPJ) stipule clairement que lorsque le maintien de l’enfant dans son milieu familial n’est pas possible, on doit favoriser le placement auprès d’une PS. On observe depuis 2007 que le taux d’enfants placés auprès d’une PS est maintenant de près d’un sur trois. L’objectif de cet article est de dresser, à partir de données administratives et d’entrevues téléphoniques structurées, le portrait des enfants québécois confiés à des PS, ainsi que le rôle de ce type d’accueil familial dans leurs trajectoires de placement. |

| Summary, etc. | In Quebec, since 2007, an increase in the use of kinship care in comparison with other forms of placement has been observed to the extent that now one in three children removed from their homes are placed in this type of foster family. The objective of this article is to provide, using administrative data and structured telephone interviews with social workers, a portrait of children placed in kinship care in Quebec and to explore the role of short term kinship care within the overall placement trajectory. |
