| Summary, etc. | Il est courant de lire des analyses des « révolutions industrielles » qui s’appuient sur trois arguments : l’idée que le moteur des changements est uniquement le facteur technologique, le présupposé de l’existence de « systèmes techniques » qui mettent en relation matériaux principaux, formes d’énergie et secteurs industriels moteurs, et enfin l’idée que la technologie détermine tout le reste, comme l’organisation des entreprises et du travail. L’article montre que si l’on analyse précisément les faits historiques, ces interprétations sont tellement schématiques qu’elles en deviennent fausses. |

| Summary, etc. | The analyses of the « industrial revolutions » are generally based on three arguments : the idea that the cause of change is only the technological factor, the assumption of the existence of « technical systems » that connect main materials, forms of energy and industrial leading sectors and finally the idea that technology determines everything else, such as the organization of business and labor.
