520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | SUMMARY Among all scientific disciplines, the social sciences are the only ones whose argumentation has to face a large audience, which is actually the public at large. It means that their modes of argumentation are indeed twofold – as in other sciences – i.e. are designed for a reduced audience as well as for any reasonable person, but taking into account that the latter thinks she/he is entitled – a practically unique occurrence – to form an opinion on the question. The author sheds light on this peculiarity with the help of modern argumentation theories. |
