| Summary, etc. | RéSUMé Dans le contexte de renaissance régionale qui caractérise l’Europe d’aujourd’hui, la Bretagne se distingue par un fort contraste entre la vivacité de son dynamisme culturel et la déficience de son expression politique. Ceci peut s’expliquer par le fait que la singularité bretonne, longtemps dépréciée et refoulée, ne fait l’objet que d’une réévaluation progressive : si ses connotations négatives s’estompent dans le domaine culturel, il n’en est pas encore de même sur le plan politique, où elle demeure taboue face à un État central qui conserve un caractère en partie sacré. Divers indices, cependant, laissent penser qu’il n’est pas exclu que l’identité prenne bientôt, en Bretagne comme ailleurs, une dimension politique dont les modalités sont envisagées ici sous la forme de trois scénarios. |

| Summary, etc. | SUMMARY In the context of a regional revival which characterizes Europe today, Brittany sets itself apart by a marked contrast between the intensity of its cultural dynamism and the paucity of its political expression. This can be explained by the fact that the breton singularity, long disparaged and repressed, is only gradually regaining its value. If its negative connotations are fading away at the cultural level, it is not yet the same at the political level, where it remains taboo vis-à-vis a central State which preserves part of its sacrosanct dimensions. Various indications, however, suggest that it is possible that the identity may soon take, in Brittany as elsewhere, a political dimension whose details are considered here in the form of three scenarios. |
