| Summary, etc. | In specialized care facilities, the teams, most of whom are women, are confronted on a daily basis with the dehumanizing mechanisms of the archaic disorders of the residents. The author draws on her experience as an institutional clinical psychologist to discuss the professional practices and institutional place of these women. Feminist research into the ethics of care can open up new paths of clinical understanding of the specific dynamics of specialized care facilities. As such, the sociological concept of dirty work is linked both to institutional history and to the liminality of this extreme clinical practice. We examine the notion of “therapeutic mothering,” which initially shaped the practices of daily life in care facilities for subjects with archaic pathologies. The early use of this term, now replaced by “nursing care,” is closely linked to the gendering of these professions. The rise of the concept of containment, linked to the notion of the psychic envelope, is an opportunity to modify our representations, but above all to revalue the daily gestures of these teams by deepening their meaning. |

| Summary, etc. | En maison d’accueil spécialisée, les équipes, majoritairement féminines, se confrontent quotidiennement aux mécanismes déshumanisants des troubles archaïques du sujet accueilli. L’autrice s’appuie sur son expérience de psychologue clinicienne en institution pour évoquer les pratiques professionnelles et la place institutionnelle de ces femmes. Les travaux de recherches féministes à propos de l’éthique du care peuvent ouvrir de nouvelles pistes de compréhension clinique de la dynamique spécifique des maisons d’accueil spécialisées. Ainsi, le concept sociologique de dirty work, dans sa double acception de boulot sale/sale boulot, s’articule tant avec l’histoire institutionnelle qu’avec la liminalité de cette clinique de l’extrême. Nous nous penchons sur la notion de « maternage thérapeutique », qui a initialement organisé les pratiques de la vie quotidienne en institutions d’accueil de personnes porteuses de pathologies de type archaïque. L’utilisation ancienne de ce terme, remplacé aujourd’hui par l’expression « soins de nursing », apparaît intimement liée à l’assignation genrée de ces professions. L’essor du concept de contenance, lié à la notion d’enveloppe psychique, est une occasion de modifier nos représentations, mais surtout de revaloriser les gestes quotidiens de ces équipes en approfondissant leur sens. |
