| Summary, etc. | This article examines the functions of the image in the documentation of contemporary art as well as the relationship between image, documentation and artwork. We consider these issues through case study analysis of the website Documents d’artistes Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, providing natively digital documentation of regional contemporary art which is free from the normative practices of museum documentation. This digital documentation results in a collection of editorialized images, through which one can navigate using the digital image as a "go-between sign." Digital images thus serve a triple mediating function and offer the viewer a composite documentary representation that gives a cognitive account of the complexity of the hyper-work. |

| Summary, etc. | Cet article questionne les fonctions de l’image dans la documentation de l’art contemporain et la relation qui s’instaure entre image, documentation et œuvre. Ces enjeux sont abordés à travers le terrain Documents d’artistes Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, une documentation de l’art contemporain régional nativement numérique, émancipée des pratiques documentaires muséales normatives. La documentation numérique produite aboutit à une collection d’images éditorialisées, dans laquelle il est possible de naviguer grâce à l’image numérique transformée en « signe-passeur ». Les images numériques assurant une triple médiation offrent la vue d’une représentation documentaire numérique composite rendant compte cognitivement de la complexité de l’hyper-œuvre. |
