Summary, etc. |

Summary, etc. | Cycles and Economic Renewal: the myth of innovationBusiness cycles have inspired many economists for more than two centuries. For some of them, they are mechanical movements of the economy, for others, they are phases of major social and political changes. This article outlines the characteristics of different phases of the history of capitalism and focuses on the relationship between innovation and economic movements. The systematic application of science to production depends on the extent of institutional and social change. The lack of institutional and political innovations may explain both features of the current configuration of capitalism : financialization and managerialism. Classification JEL : B50, O3, P1 |
