| Summary, etc. | Les débats sur le Brexit ont suscité leur flot régulier de controverses et de tensions politiques en Grande-Bretagne comme au sein de l’Union européenne. Rares sont toutefois les recherches quant à l’impact du Brexit sur la politique étrangère de l’UE, qui est l’objet de recherche de ce dossier. Le Brexit permet d’analyser plus particulièrement l’évolution de la politique étrangère de l’UE en retrouvant la double échelle supranationale et nationale (celle des États membres). Les questions de recherche que soulève ce numéro à propos du Brexit sont dès lors au nombre de deux. La première vise à évaluer les effets du retrait d’un État membre sur l’évolution globale de la politique étrangère de l’UE. La deuxième, prenant en compte les interdépendances entre les échelles nationale et européenne, analyse les stratégies d’adaptation et de changement de chaque politique étrangère nationale face à la politique étrangère de l’UE. |

| Summary, etc. | Brexit debates have generated their steady stream of controversy and political tension in Britain and the European Union. However, little research has been done on the impact of Brexit on EU foreign policy, which is the research topic of this special issue. Brexit invites to analyse more specifically the evolution of EU foreign policy at both the supranational and the national (i.e. Member State) levels. The research questions about Brexit are therefore twofold. The first is: how to assess the effects of the withdrawal of a member state on the overall evolution of EU foreign policy? The second –taking into account the interdependencies between the national and European levels– is: how to understand the adaptation and change strategies of each national foreign policy in relation to EU foreign policy? |
