Summary, etc. | Dans le contexte de l’emploi direct à domicile, cet article vise à présenter les principaux résultats d’une recherche portant sur les apprentissages mutuels entre particuliers employeurs et salariés, particulièrement des assistants de vie et employés familiaux. Au-delà de la représentation courante consistant à affirmer que les métiers du domicile sont « simples » et réalisables avec des « qualités personnelles », ils recèlent au contraire une véritable technicité mobilisant des compétences complexes à la fois d’organisation du travail et des différents espaces-temps que traversent les salariées au fil de leur expérience (notamment dans les situations de multi-employeur) et des compétences d’adaptation à des situations très variées conduisant à faire en permanence des choix et à se fixer des priorités. |

Summary, etc. | In the context of direct employment at home, this article aims to present the main results of research into mutual learning between individual employers and employees, particularly carers and family employees. Beyond the common representation that asserts that home-based jobs are “simple” and only require “personal qualities”, this research reveals, on the contrary, a real technicality mobilizing complex skills both in the organization of work and the different spaces and times that employees go through over the course of their experience (especially in multi-employer situations) and skills to adapt to a wide variety of situations, leading to constantly making choices and setting priorities. |
