| Summary, etc. | RésuméBien que l’accueil familial soit connu dans beaucoup de régions du monde, il existe dans les différents pays une grande diversité, autant dans la pratique que dans la théorie. Cet article présente les structures et le cadre juridique de l’accueil familial en Allemagne. Différentes méthodes, théories et résultats de recherche sont exposés en s’appuyant sur six enquêtes importantes publiées entre 1930 et 2007. Dans un second temps, l’auteur présente les méthodes et les premiers résultats de son propre groupe de recherches basé à l’université de Siegen. En analysant les expériences et les interprétations d’anciens enfants placés à partir d’entretiens biographiques, le groupe de travail de Siegen se propose de donner une nouvelle impulsion à la recherche sur l’accueil familial et en présente de nouveaux aspects. |

| Summary, etc. | Foster care in Germany: organization and research orientationsEven though foster families are to be found in most regions of the world, there are major difference in the practice and theory of foster care in different countries. This article provides an overview of the structures as well as the legal framework of foster care in Germany. We present the principal methods, theories and results of German foster care research, based on six major studies published between 1930 and 2007. To conclude, the author describes the work of her own research group at the University of Siegen, highlighting the group’s methods and presenting some initial results. The Siegen working group intends to give new impetus to research on family foster care, and presents new elements such as biographic interviews, from which the experiences and interpretations of ex-foster children are analyzed. |
