Summary, etc. | Les pratiques éducatives familiales sont étudiées ici à partir d’objets originaux : les cahiers d’activités parascolaires destinés à des enfants à l’âge de l’école maternelle. Nous montrons tout d’abord qu’ils constituent des objets de consommation hybrides, participant de dynamiques culturelles plurielles, entre culture enfantine de masse, culture ludique et culture scolaire. Une enquête sur leurs usages auprès de familles de milieux socio-culturels très différenciés, interrogées en grande section après un premier entretien en petite section, permet ensuite de souligner toute une série de pratiques irréductibles au seul souci d’un rendement scolaire et d’insister sur des usages à la fois sérieux et dilettantes de ces cahiers, à la mesure de leur caractère hybride. Ils mettent en jeu des rapports à l’enfant et des rapports ambivalents au temps, en particulier une vigilance qui conjugue l’importance du présent et le souci de la future scolarité de l’enfant. |

Summary, etc. | Family educational practices are analyzed here through original material : the notebooks of extracurricular activities for young children in the nursery school age-group. We show how these must be regarded as hybrid products of consumption, in terms of plural cultural dynamics between children’s mass culture, fun culture and school culture. A study of their uses in families of very different socioeconomic levels, initially broad focused and subsequently more precise, shows a series of practices, that cannot be reduced to the sole concern of school achievement and that demonstrates both the more and less serious uses of these activities notebooks, corresponding to their hybrid nature. They bring to light how the notebook-writers relate to the children and their ambivalent relations with temporalities, particularly a vigilance which reflects both the importance of the present and a concern for the future school achievement of the child |
