Summary, etc. | Pour répondre à cette question essentielle en vue de cerner l’utilité des E2C et donc assurer leur devenir, le présent travail a eu recours à trois sources de données ici analysées : le réseau des E2C France et particulièrement le réseau des E2C Ile de France, des formateurs d’E2C interrogés dans leurs souvenirs de stagiaires qui les ont marqués, des entretiens avec d’anciens stagiaires d’une E2C particulière, celle de Ris-Orangis. Les données recueillies font plus particulièrement apparaître deux traits : les anciens stagiaires qui ont terminé leur formation avec ou sans proposition d’embauche, avec ou sans projet disent à la quasi-unanimité qu’ils en sortent différents et que ce qui les a marqués, c’est « l’école du lien » que constitue pour eux une E2C, notamment à travers les relations stagiaires-formateurs. |

Summary, etc. | To respond to this essential question so as to assess the effectiveness of Second Chance Schools and therefore ensure their future development, this study analyzes three data sources: the network of French Second Chance Schools (E2C), in particular the Île de France network, the questioning of teachers about their memories of students that have made an impression on them, and interviews with former trainees of one particular Second Chance School in Ris-Orangis. The data collected bring to light two particular observations: whether they ended their training with or without a job offer, with or without a career plan, former students almost unanimously said that they came out of the program a different person, and that what had affected them was the “school for making connections” that a Second Chance School constituted for them, in particular through relations between students and teachers. |
