Summary, etc. | RésuméL’objet de cet article est d’analyser des entretiens semi-directifs de mères en situation de précarité socio-économique. Il analyse « l’expérience maternelle » au travers de l’enfance des mères, de leur relation conjugale, de leur rôle maternel et du soutien social qu’elles sollicitent. Il rend compte, à partir de ces différentes dimensions, de la façon dont elles exercent et se représentent leur maternité. 18 mères d’enfants âgés de 44 mois en moyenne, en situation biparentale, ont été rencontrées individuellement en entretiens semi-directifs. Trois éléments émergent de l’analyse du discours : prégnance du modèle traditionnel de la maternité, investissement important de l’enfant et recherche active de soutien familial et auprès des services sociaux pour pallier à leurs difficultés financières. |

Summary, etc. | The purpose of this paper is to analyse the results of semi-structured interviews of mothers in a situation of socio-economic uncertainty. It analyses the “maternal experience” through the mothers’ childhood, marital relationship, maternal role, and the social support they seek. It assesses the way they represent their maternity on the basis of these different aspects. Eighteen mothers of children (average age 44 months), in a two-parent situation, were seen separately at the time of semi-structured interviews. Three elements emerge from the analysis of their discourse: the significance of the traditional model of maternity, substantial investment for the child and the active search for support from their family and from the social services to resolve their financial difficulties. |
