| Summary, etc. | L’artisanat des cornes de bœufs, d’origine récente à Maroua, constitue l’une des innovations majeures dans le secteur de l’artisanat traditionnel au Cameroun. La diversité et la nouveauté des produits fabriqués, l’outillage et les procédés de fabrication constituent des innovations qui reposent sur une recombinaison des savoirs existants avec l’utilisation de moyens financiers, matériels et humains modestes. Cet artisanat peut être classé dans la catégorie de l’innovation frugale, dite « jugaad » et il a une influence positive sur l’environnement, étant donné que le recyclage des cornes contribue à lutter contre la pollution. Par ailleurs, cette activité repose sur la revalorisation par des artisans de savoirs et de techniques plus anciennes déjà maîtrisées. |

| Summary, etc. | The cattle horns craft, recently introduced in Maroua, is one of the major innovations in the traditional handicraft sector in Cameroon. The variety and novelty processes of products manufactured, tools and manufacturing processes are innovations which rely on the recombination of existing knowledge with the use of modest financial, material and human. This craft can be classified in the category of « Jugaad » innovation, a frugal form of innovation and has a positive influence on the environment, given that the recycling of horns helps to fight against pollution. Besides, this new activity rests on the revalorization of older knowledges and techniques already mastered by craftmen. Classification JEL : O10, O35, O31. |
