| Summary, etc. | Cet article puise dans les développements théoriques relatifs à l’apprentissage organisationnel et à l’approche de la firme fondée sur le savoir, afin de mieux appréhender le contenu et les processus de développement des savoirs dans le cadre de l’internationalisation de la firme. Aussi, l’objet de l’apprentissage organisationnel dans le cadre de l’internationalisation sera-t-il précisé et le rôle de l’apprentissage cognitif et comportemental décrit et analysé. Des propositions issues des « théories » de la firme fondée sur le savoir seront enfin utilisées pour opérer un dépassement de l’analyse classique et analyser les processus « hybrides » de création de savoir organisationnel dans le cadre de l’internationalisation de la firme. Cette prise en compte des différentes conceptions et variantes de l’apprentissage et du développement du savoir sera mobilisée pour analyser l’opposition apparente entre deux conceptions du phénomène de l’internationalisation, celle du développement incrémental et celle de l’internationalisation précoce et rapide. | Summary, etc. | This paper draws on the theoretical developments in organizational learning and the knowledge-based view of the firm to better understand the content and processes of knowledge development during firm’s internationalization. First, the object of organizational learning in the context of internationalization is defined and characterized. Then, the roles of cognitive and behavioral learning processes are described and analyzed. Besides, the teachings of the knowledge-based theories of the firm are used to go beyond the classical analysis of knowledge in firm’s internationalization. Thus, the paper analyzes “hybrid” processes of organizational knowledge creation during firm’s internationalization. Finally, this integration of different meanings and natures of organizational learning and knowledge development are called up to analyze the apparent antagonism between two main conceptions of the phenomenon of internationalization namely incremental commitment and born global internationalization. |
