| Summary, etc. | Au-delà de la recherche d’efficacité, les arts martiaux asiatiques visent à une construction du sujet. Leur action automédiale offre une expérience d’unité de soi. Ils constituent donc des « techniques de soi » (Foucault). Afin de faire apparaître l’indicible sur scène, l’acteur doit préparer son corps par une pratique particulière, par exemple celle d’un art martial. Le metteur en scène russe A. Vassiliev a choisi le wu shu pour construire un « acteur transparent » au service d’un théâtre métaphysique. Ainsi, la pratique martiale fournit à l’acteur à la fois une technique automédiale et une voie pour incarner l’indicible sur scène. |

| Summary, etc. | Beyond the pressing need for efficiency, asian martial arts aim at a complete building of the human being. Thanks to self-mediality, they offer an experience of a unified self. Therefore they may be considered as "techniques of the self" (Foucault). To make the unspeakable appear onstage, the actor has to use his body and, in order to do so, to train it through a special practice like martial arts. For example, A. Vasiliev uses wu shu to build a « transparent actor » serving a metaphysical theatre. Therefore the practice of martial arts provides the actor with a technique of the self and a way of embodying the unspeakable onstage. |
