| Summary, etc. | La périnéorraphie est une pratique chirurgicale biomédicale qui vise à resserrer fortement le périnée des femmes après un accouchement par voie basse. Au Cambodge, par cette pratique, et à travers l’institution biomédicale, les soignant∙e∙s construisent un corps féminin qui s’inscrit dans une représentation symbolique du corps fortement genrée, où le corps féminin, faible et vulnérable, doit être façonné sur mesure, de manière à répondre aux attentes du corps masculin. Cet article souhaite montrer qu’en rendant les femmes conformes à leur rôle d’épouse, l’institution biomédicale participe à la reproduction de la structure ; il vise également à interroger les logiques des acteurs, notamment l’incorporation de la pratique par les soignantes qui disent rendre ainsi service aux autres femmes. |

| Summary, etc. | Perineorrhaphy is a biomedical surgical procedure which seeks to tighten the muscles at the opening of a woman’s vagina following a vaginal birth. Via this practice, and through the biomedical institution, medical professionals in Cambodia construct a female body which is inscribed in a symbolic representation of the highly gendered body, in which the weak and vulnerable female body must be tailored to meet the expectations of the male body. This article seeks to show that in making women conform to the role of wife, the biomedical institution contributes to reproducing structure; it also seeks to interrogate the logic of the actors, and in particular how this practice has been incorporated by female medical professionals who claim that in this way they perform a service for other women. |

| Summary, etc. | La perineorrafia es una práctica quirúrgica biomédica que busca apretar fuertemente el perineo de la mujer después del parto vaginal. En Camboya, por esta práctica, y a través de la institución biomédica, lo∙a∙s cuidadore∙a∙s construyen un cuerpo femenino que se inscribe en una representación simbólica del cuerpo fuertemente generizado, donde el cuerpo femenino, débil y vulnerable, debe estar moldeado sobre medida, con el fin de satisfacer las expectativas del cuerpo masculino. En este artículo busca mostrar que al volver las mujeres conforme a su rol de esposas, la institución biomédica participa a la reproducción de la estructura; pretende también cuestionar las lógicas de los actores, incluyendo la incorporación de la práctica por lo∙a∙s cuidador∙e∙s que ayudan de esta forma a las otras mujeres. |
