| Summary, etc. | En pays bamiléké, la responsabilité de la production alimentaire incombe aux femmes. Le travail de la terre représente, avec la maternité, un élément important de valorisation sociale. Pour leur permettre d’assumer ce rôle, le régime foncier traditionnel, forgé dans un environnement de peuplement dense et de culture intensive, leur garantissait l’accès à la terre, à travers des droits d’usage et de culture. La législation foncière moderne leur a offert des possibilités d’accéder à la propriété foncière, ce qui représente une avancée par rapport au système coutumier. L’effectivité de ce droit demeure cependant problématique pour les agricultrices qui doivent surmonter de nombreux freins, à la fois sociaux et économiques. |

| Summary, etc. | In the Bamiléké Country, women are responsible for food production. Along with motherhood, working the land is a major social role for women. In order to allow them to perform this role, the traditional land regime, which was created in an environment of dense population and intensive farming, guaranteed women access to land through usage and farming rights. Modern land legislation has offered them ways of accessing landownership, which constitutes an advance compared to the customary system. However, the effectiveness of this law remains problematic for female farmers, who must overcome numerous obstacles, both social and economic. |

| Summary, etc. | En tierra bamiléké, les corresponde a las mujeres la responsabilidad de la producción alimentaria. El trabajo de la tierra representa, con la maternidad, un elemento importante de valorización social. Para permitirles asumir este papel, el régimen del suelo tradicional, forjado en un contexto de poblamiento denso y de cultura intensiva, les garantizaba el acceso a la tierra, a través de derechos de uso y de cultura. La legislación moderna del suelo les ha ofrecido posibilidades de acceder a la propiedad del suelo, lo que representa un avance con respecto al sistema consuetudinario. La efectividad de ese derecho permanece sin embargo problemático para las agricultoras que deben superar numerosos frenos, a la vez sociales y económicos. |
