| Summary, etc. | RésuméAprès avoir rappelé les diverses facettes – réelle, symbolique et imaginaire – de la paternité dans l’enseignement de Lacan, l’auteur fait le point des publications psychanalytiques concernant les difficultés que peut rencontrer l’homme lorsqu’il devient père dans la réalité. Sont successivement envisagés, les décompensations psychotiques, les phénomènes de couvade, de grossesses nerveuses, de troubles psychosomatiques et sexuels, les apparitions d’une agressivité pathologique, les fuites dans le travail, dans l’espace, dans la phobie et dans le suicide. Pour rendre compte de ces malaises et malêtres paternels, l’auteur fait appel à divers processus psychiques mis en œuvre quand survient l’enfant : apparition d’un signifiant forclos, identification à la femme devenant mère, sollicitation de ses identifications féminines et de ses désirs d’enfants, confusion entre sa femme et sa propre mère, réveil des sentiments d’envie et de jalousie à l’égard du puîné, sollicitation des désirs incestueux et meurtriers, rappel de l’incontournable rencontre avec la mort. L’article se termine par de brèves vignettes cliniques illustrant les possibilités thérapeutiques de telles impasses. |

| Summary, etc. | Having recalled various facets – real, symbolic and imaginary – of fatherhood in Lacan’s teaching, the author takes stock of the psychoanalytical publications concerning the difficulties a man may encounter when he becomes a father in reality. Psychotic decompensation, couvade phenomena, nervous pregnancy, psychosomatic and sexual disorders, appearance of pathological aggressiveness, fleeing into one’s work, into space into phobia and suicide are each envisaged in turn. To account for these malaises and feelings of ill-ease, the author calls on various psychic processes implemented when the child comes : appearance of a foreclosed signifier, identification with the woman becoming mother, calling on feminine identifications and one’s desire to have children, confusion between his wife and his own mother, awakening of feelings of envy and jealousy with regard to the younger sibling, calling up of incestuous and murderous desires, recall of the inevitable encounter with death. The article finishes with brief clinical vignettes illustrating the therapeutic possibilities for such impasse situations. |
