Le héros devenu écrivain apparaît, au terme d’une quête identitaire périlleuse, comme le représentant d’une nouvelle identité masculine qui jouit de ses potentialités bisexuelles dans une sorte de célébration de l’instant et de la vie sous toutes ses formes. |

| Summary, etc. | The Metamorphoses of the Male Body Put to the Test of Post-Modernity. The author of this article adopts an analytical stance rooted in her reading of E-E. Schmitt’s novel Lorsquej’étais une œuvre d’art, and addresses the paradigm of the identity crisis inherent to masculinity, offering new light on ways out of this dead end in contemporary unease both in and through writing. The hero of the novel, now a writer, embarks on a perilous quest to uncover his identity and emerges as the embodiment of a new male identity which takes pleasure in its own bisexual potential in a celebration of the present moment and life in all its multifarious guises. |
