| Summary, etc. | Parmi les figures paradigmatiques convoquées par Pierre Michon pour interroger l’énigme d’une vocation littéraire, Lucien Chardon, héros balzacien, s’impose en modèle du jeune poète et, tout comme Rimbaud, en « redoutable machine d’identification spéculaire » : bond intense hors de l’ensevelissement provincial et cuisantes désillusions. Qu’est-ce qui fait la force d’écrire ? Inséparable de Lucien, Vautrin est l’incarnation même du génie littéraire et de la puissance créatrice. Figure du double, il renvoie aux féconds dualismes entre maîtres et serviteurs des textes de Michon et « père superlatif », il métaphorise la quête de l’écrit, inaccessible. « Les extrêmes se bouchent », comme l’affirme Mistigris dont le calembour impose la figure énigmatique et ambiguë du poète, « ce mixte d’Apollon et d’un petit dieu frondeur des jardins ». |

What makes the strength of writing? Inseparable from Lucien, Vautrin is the very incarnation of literary genius and creative power.
