| Summary, etc. | Undernutrition is a frequent problem in medicine. In practice, it concerns all practitioners, whether they work in the city, in hospitals, or in medico-social structures. In view of its deleterious physiopathological consequences for each individual, it deserves to be diagnosed and screened, particularly in certain high-risk situations (notably in the case of a lack of intake, increased needs and losses) and in principle in the elderly. In this context, the tools available to the practitioner are numerous, including: data from the clinical examination, anthropometric data (weight, BMI, skin folds), biological data (mainly albumin, transthyretin, BPR), and composite indices and nutritional scores (including the MNA, NRI, SGA, NRS2002 and MUST) |

| Summary, etc. | La dénutrition est une problématique fréquente en médecine. Elle concerne, de fait, tous les praticiens, que ces derniers exercent en ville, à l’hôpital, ou dans des structures médico-sociales. Au regard de ses conséquences physiopathologiques délétères pour chaque individu, elle doit être diagnostiquée et dépistée, en particulier dans certaines situations à risques (notamment en cas de carence d’apport ou d’augmentation des besoins et des pertes) et, de principe, chez le sujet âgé. Dans ce cadre, les outils à la disposition du praticien sont nombreux, incluant les données issues de l’examen clinique, les données anthropométriques (poids, indice de masse corporelle, plis cutanés), les données biologiques (dont principalement l’albumine, la transthyrétine, la retinol binding protein), et les indices composites et scores nutritionnels (dont le mini nutritional assessment, le nutritional risk index, le subjective global assessment, le nutrition risk screening 2002 et le malnutrition universal screening tool). |
