| Summary, etc. | Leprosy is an endemic infectious disease caused by Hansen’s bacillus. It manifests itself mainly through skin and nerve damage, but osteoarticular manifestations may be observed with varying prevalence worldwide. The osteoarticular manifestations of leprosy may be specific to the bacillus itself or secondary to immune reactions. Their pathophysiology is still not fully understood. They are polymorphous and not well known, which makes their diagnosis particularly difficult and is thus responsible for therapeutic erraticity. The current therapeutic arsenal includes effective drugs and treatment plans for both leprosy and leprosy reactions. Early management is essential to avoid irreversible damage and functional impairment. This article provides a general review of the osteoarticular manifestations of leprosy and their management. |

| Summary, etc. | La lèpre est une maladie infectieuse endémique due au bacille de Hansen. Elle se manifeste principalement par des atteintes cutanées et nerveuses, mais des manifestations ostéoarticulaires peuvent être observées avec une prévalence variable dans le monde. Les manifestations ostéoarticulaires de la lèpre peuvent être spécifiques du bacille lui-même ou secondaires à des réactions immunitaires. Leur physiopathologie reste encore imparfaitement élucidée. Elles sont polymorphes et peu connues, ce qui rend leur diagnostic particulièrement difficile et est ainsi responsable d’une errance thérapeutique. L’arsenal thérapeutique actuel dispose de médicaments efficaces et de schémas thérapeutiques au point tant pour le traitement antilépreux que pour celui des réactions lépreuses. La prise en charge précoce est indispensable pour éviter les dommages irréversibles et le handicap fonctionnel. Cet article propose une revue générale sur les manifestations ostéoarticulaires de la lèpre et leur prise en charge. |
