| Summary, etc. | RésuméAvoir ou non les capacités pour décider le cours de sa propre vie ne dépend pas seulement de circonstances externes. La constitution d’un Sujet, acteur et récepteur actif dépend du traitement Environnemental des initiatives initiales de celui-ci. La possibilité de choisir une activité satisfaisante dans la vie, un couple, une forme de vie, un ensemble de valeurs, c’est le résultat d’un processus que peu de gens peuvent faire.Les soumissions précoces réduisent les possibilités de devenir un être créatif, original et contribuable efficace dans les objectifs contextuels. Même si l’on compte sur un noyau solide pour le Sujet émergent, celui-ci court des risques toute sa vie, dans la mesure où le contexte n’a que trois moules ou matrices qui continueront à délimiter l’espace psychique où habitera le Sujet.Il se peut aussi que le sujet ne trouve pas de place dans l’organisation sociale dans laquelle il est né, pour développer sa vie. S’il ne peut modifier cette situation tout seul ou par l’union à d’autres, il sera mené à réduire ses possibilités d’être, à la place que lui donnent des groupes d’appartenance moindres, en sachant que cela implique une pauvreté participative.Je voudrais conclure au moyen d’une citation qui me semble résumer ce que ce travail s’efforce de résoudre :« ...Il est difficile de se rappeler à quel point le concept d’individu est moderne. Le nom primitif du Dieu hébreu reflète probablement la lutte pour parvenir à ce concept. Le monothéisme semble être étroitement lié au nom ‘je suis’... Ce nom (je suis) donné à Dieu, ne reflète-t-il pas le sentiment de péril qu’éprouve l’individu lorsqu’il atteint l’état d’être individuel ? »....(D. Winnicott, 1968) |

| Summary, etc. | To have or not to have the capacities to decide one’s own life course does depend not only on external circumstances. The constitution of a Subject, both as active receptor and as agent, depends on the treatment given by the Environment to the Subject’s first Initiatives.The possibilities to chose a satisfactory activity, a partner, a way of life, a set of values, is the final result of a process few can actually complete.Early submissive compliance reduces possibilities to become a creative being, both original and efficient as a contributor to the objectives of the context (common interests and well being).Even in the case of a solid core for the emergent Subject, the process of negotiation with the context goes on for life. The Environment has, as here described, three matrices or molds that keep pressing onto the Psychic Space where the Subject dwells, shaping it in greater or smaller ways.It might occur as well that the Subject finds no Place in the social organization in which he has to unfold his/her life. In case this situation can not be changed by oneself or allied with others, one’s being will be restricted to the Place given by minor groups of belonging. Being within the boundaries of a minority group implies participative impoverishment.I would like to end with a quotation that seems to me to summarize what this paper is trying to convey :“ It is difficult for us to remember how modern is the concept of a human individual. The struggle to reach this concept is reflected, perhaps, in the early Hebrew name for God. Monotheism seems to be closely linked to the name I am .....Does not this name (I AM) given to God reflect the danger that the individual feels he or she is in on reaching the state of individual being ?.”.(D.Winnicott, 1968) |
