Summary, etc. | RésuméLes recherches actuelles sur le développement des connaissances temporelles montrent que durant les premières années de sa vie l’enfant acquiert des informations sur la temporalité qui facilitent d’une part son adaptation à l’environnement et d’autre part son développement affectif, perceptif, linguistique, cognitif et social. Au cours du développement linguistique et cognitif, il est montré dans les recherches que les enfants n’ont pas seulement construit un concept de temps unique mais plutôt différents aspects du temps. Le rôle du langage et celui des artefacts matériels et symboliques sont vus comme indispensables dans l’étude du développement des repères temporels afin de mieux comprendre comment l’enfant passe de temps pratiqués, agis à des temps représentés. En conclusion, quelques exemples de difficultés temporelles étudiées dans les troubles du développement sont proposés pour pointer la complexité des processus développementaux en jeu dans la genèse des connaissances temporelles. |

Summary, etc. | Studies in developmental psychology of time show that, during the first years, children learn information about time that allow them both to be adapted to their environment and to support their social, cognitive, linguistic and affective development. Through linguistic and cognitive development, children do not construct a unique concept of time but rather a plurality of times. The role of language and artifacts (both material and symbolic) is emphasized in order to shed light on the way children develop from “practical times” to represented ones. In conclusion some examples of temporal difficulties studied in some developmental disorders are proposed to show the complexity of the developmental process at stake in the origins of temporal cognition. |
