Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | The interest in early relationships between mother and child has its history and Fairbairn’s object-relations theory is one of the steps of this history. From a clinical experience with adults, Fairbairn examines unsatisfying early relationships with the mother : these relations gives the feeling that addressing his love to the mother destroys her. But Fairbairn will go further : libido isn’t pleasure-seeking anymore, but object-seeking. His theory was questioned by critics but we believe that Fairbairn has constructed an history of early links with the mother, from an experience with adults and has leaded the way for thinking about early relationships between mother and child. |
