| Summary, etc. | En Italie, les candidats à la magistrature doivent suivre un stage de dix-huit mois pendant lequel ils se familiarisent avec leur institution et leur rôle. Dans une perspective ethnométhodologique, cet article cherche à décrire les procédures in-terprétatives communément utilisées par les candidats durant cette période de formation en sorte de produire une identité professionnelle. La formation profes-sionnelle n’est donc pas un phénomène allant de soi, mais il s’agit d’un moment particulier de la construction de l’identité du juge. S’appuyant sur des données ethnographiques recueillies auprès du tribunal de Lecce, en Italie, l’article pro-pose une description des moyens mis en œuvre par les membres pour reconnaître, classer et identifier les futurs magistrats et la géographie de l’Italie. |

| Summary, etc. | Knowledge in Action : An Ethnomethodological Approach to Training of Italian MagistratesIn Italy candidate magistrates must undergo a 18-month apprenticeship through which they come to know their institution and role. In an ethnomethodological perspective, this paper seeks to describe the interpretative procedures the candidates use in common during the period of training so as to produce their professional identity. Professional training will not be considered as a self-evident phenomenon but as an instance of the social construction of the judge’s identity. Using ethnographical data collected at the Law Court of Lecce, Italy, it provides a description of the ways in which members recognize, classify and identify future magistrates and Italian geography. |
