| Summary, etc. | BackgroundThere is still much room for improving the self-advocacy of elderly female patients with breast cancer.MethodsSubjects (168 in total) were selected from elderly female patients with breast cancer who had been hospitalized from May to December 2022 using the convenience sampling method. Assessment was conducted for the status quo of self-advocacy of subjects using the Chinese version of Female Self-Advocacy in Cancer Survivorship (FSACS). The general data of patients were investigated to find out the possible related factors.ResultsThe FSACS score was 79.23±10.58 points in the 168 elderly female patients with breast cancer, showing significant differences among the patients at different ages and with various levels of education, self-efficacy, perceived social support and psychological resilience (P1-2.447X2-5.763X3-1.617X4-4.259X5. An advanced age was a non-independent risk factor for the self-advocacy of elderly female patients with breast cancer (B>0, P>0.05), while high levels of education, self-efficacy, perceived social support and psychological resilience served as protective factors (BConclusionElderly female patients with breast cancer exhibit a medium level of self-advocacy, which may be associated with age, education level, self-efficacy, perceived social support, and psychological resilience. |

| Summary, etc. | ContexteIl reste encore beaucoup à faire pour améliorer l’auto-soutien des patientes âgées atteintes d’un cancer du sein.MéthodesLes sujets (168 au total) ont été sélectionnés parmi des patientes âgées atteintes d’un cancer du sein qui avaient été hospitalisées de mai à décembre 2022 en utilisant la méthode d’échantillonnage de convenance. L’évaluation du statu quo en matière d’auto-soutien des sujets a été réalisée à l’aide de la version chinoise du Female Self-Advocacy in Cancer Survivorship (FSACS). Les données générales des patients ont été étudiées pour découvrir les éventuels facteurs individuels associés.RésultatsLe score FSACS était de 79,23 ± 10,58 points chez les 168 patientes âgées atteintes d’un cancer du sein, `montrant des différences significatives entre les patientes selon leur âge et leur niveau d’éducation, d’auto-efficacité, de perception de leur soutien social et de leur capacité de résilience (P 0, P>0,05), tandis que des niveaux élevés d’éducation, d’auto-efficacité, de perception de leur soutien social et de leur capacité de résilience étaient des facteurs de protection (BConclusionLes patientes âgées atteintes d’un cancer du sein présentent un niveau moyen d’auto-soutien, qui peut être associé à l’âge, au niveau d’éducation, à l’auto-efficacité, à la perception du soutien social et à la capacité de résilience. |
