Summary, etc. | What forms does racialization take at the top of the social ladder? This foundational question in American sociology draws attention to the way in which social relations of race and class intertwine in shaping individual trajectories and practices. Based on four case- studies conducted among “elites” circulating and residing in various geographical contexts, this dossier seeks to build upon a well-established research tradition on the other side of the Atlantic on the Black middle classes by shifting the focus toward other national configurations. Ultimately, the dossier calls for a re-examination of the race-class debate, by exploring the ways in which racial, religious, and cultural cleavages are being reconfigured within privileged social strata. |

Summary, etc. |
