| Summary, etc. | Reconnue par N. Elias lui-même, l’influence de la psychanalyse de Sigmund Freud sur son œuvre n’est plus à démontrer. Cependant, la relation d’Elias à l’œuvre de Freud soulève de nombreuses questions. Si le sociologue s’est tourné vers elle pour étayer sa thèse sur le processus de civilisation, il n’a pas hésité à formuler diverses critiques. Un des derniers textes d’Elias Le concept freudien de société et au-delà discute et analyse, pour la première fois dans son œuvre, la théorie et les concepts freudiens. L’objectif de l’article consiste, en premier lieu, à préciser les termes de cette critique, d’en expliciter moins la véracité intrinsèque que la signification pour l’œuvre d’Elias. L’article sonde ainsi la dichotomie individu et société, opposant l’un à l’autre, et renoue avec le projet d’Elias de dépassement de celle-ci au moyen d’une prise en compte distanciée de la psychanalyse. |

| Summary, etc. | Recognized by N. Elias himself, the influence of Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalysis on his work is well established. However, Elias relation to Freud’s work raises many questions. If the sociologist turned to it to support his thesis on the civilization process, he did not hesitate to make various criticisms. One of the last texts of N. Elias The Freudian concept of society and beyond discusses and analyses, for the first time in his work, the Freudians theory and concepts. The aim of this article is, first, to clarify the terms of this criticism, to explain the intrinsic veracity less than the significance for Elias’s work. The article explores the dichotomy between individual and society, which is opposed to each other, and revive the Elias’s project to overcome this dichotomy with a detached consideration of psychoanalysis. |
