| Summary, etc. | This study analyzes the determinants of women’s economic empowerment. Methodologically, empowerment indices are constructed using inertia-based methods. A bivariate Probit model is then employed to identify the factors associated with both community-level empowerment and household-level empowerment. The results indicate that women’s activism in their communities is more pronounced when they are economically autonomous within their households and earn an income in the upper quintiles of the income distribution. | Summary, etc. | Cette étude vise à analyser les déterminants de l’autonomisation économique des femmes. Sur le plan méthodologique, des indices d’autonomisation sont construits à l’aide de méthodes d’inertie. Ensuite, un modèle Probit bivarié est établi pour mesurer les facteurs associés à la fois à l’autonomisation communautaire des femmes et à l’autonomisation des ménages. Les résultats montrent que l’activisme des femmes dans leurs communautés est relativement plus prononcé lorsqu’elles sont économiquement autonomes au sein de leurs ménages et qu’elles gagnent un revenu dans les quintiles supérieurs de la distribution des revenus. |
