| Summary, etc. | The lack of status for high-level athletes in Senegal encourages us to reflect on the explanatory elements of this state of affairs and their effects on athletes. To do this, the present study with an interpretivist epistemological positioning is based on an essentially qualitative methodology. The results demonstrate an absence of political will from state and federal authorities regarding the adoption of texts for high-level athletes, the specific needs of athletes not being met and their obligations not clearly defined. Which highlights the absence of a process of legitimization and homogenization of the action of public and federal authorities due to their inaction. |

| Summary, etc. | L’absence de statut pour les sportifs de haut niveau au Sénégal pousse à réfléchir sur les éléments explicatifs de cet état de fait et leurs effets sur les athlètes. Pour y parvenir, la présente étude, avec un positionnement épistémologique interprétativiste, s’est appuyée sur une méthodologie essentiellement qualitative. Les résultats montrent une absence de volonté politique des autorités étatiques et fédérales quant à l’adoption de textes pour les sportifs de haut niveau, des besoins spécifiques des athlètes non satisfaites et d’obligations de ces derniers non clairement définies. Ce qui met en lumière l’absence de processus de légitimation et d’homogénéisation de l’action des pouvoirs publics et fédéraux du fait de leur inaction. |
