| Summary, etc. | Depuis 2004, l’association Futuribles International publie régulièrement (d’abord annuellement puis tous les deux ans depuis 2014) un rapport destiné à explorer les grandes tendances, ruptures ou signaux faibles qui caractérisent nos sociétés, ou à mettre la focale sur un enjeu d’avenir spécifique. Après une édition 2020 consacrée aux ruptures2 , l’édition 2023 sortie officiellement cet été s’intéresse aux grandes transformations anthropologiques auxquelles les sociétés occidentales se trouvent confrontées et qui vont durablement influer sur les conditions d’existence des individus. Sept grands thèmes ont été retenus pour étudier ces transformations : la relation au vivant ; le rapport aux territoires ; naissance et mort ; technologies et être humain ; genre et sexes ; rapport aux savoirs et aux institutions ; crises et temporalités. Et sur chacun de ces thèmes, la méthodologie a consisté à croiser approche prospective et approche anthropologique, en proposant une réflexion axée sur trois niveaux : évolutions des représentations et imaginaires socioculturels du sujet traité, aujourd’hui et à l’avenir ; transformations des règles et normes collectives qui encadrent le sujet traité ; réalités individuelles observées en 2023 et envisageables à l’horizon 2040-2050. Cécile Désaunay et Marie Ségur, qui ont coordonné la réalisation de ce rapport et sont aussi autrices de plusieurs chapitres, présentent ici un aperçu de ce vaste travail. S.D. |

| Summary, etc. | Since 2004, the Futuribles International association has regularly (first annually, then since 2014 biennially) published a report exploring the major trends, discontinuities or weak signals that characterize our societies, or focusing on a specific future-related issue. After a 2020 edition devoted to ‘Shocks and Discontinuities’, the 2023 edition, published officially this summer, is concerned with the major anthropological transformations facing Western societies that will exert a lasting influence on individuals’ conditions of existence. Seven major themes have been selected for studying these transformations: the relation to life and living matter; the relation to life territories; birth and death; technologies and being human; gender and the sexes; relations to knowledge and institutions; crises and timescales. On each of these themes, the methodology consisted in combining the foresight approach with the anthropological, producing an analysis on three levels: the evolution of the sociocultural representations and imaginaries associated with the theme under consideration, both today and in the future; transformations of the collective rules and norms applying to the theme in question; individual realities observed in 2023 and to be envisaged in the years to 2040-2050. Cécile Désaunay and Marie Ségur, who coordinated the production of this report and wrote several of its chapters, here present a brief overview of this sizeable piece of work. |
