| Summary, etc. | Given that it was a primary target of attacks on civil aviation from the late 1960s onward, the Israeli airline El Al was subject to increased scrutiny at all the airports it served, including Orly airport in France. However, the strategy adopted by the French air and border police to ensure the security of El Al’s operations sometimes conflicted with the airline’s commercial interests, as the company sought to avoid overly restrictive measures for its passengers. This case thus serves as an example of the search for compromise in establishing aviation security protocols that also consider the needs of commercial airlines in managing their passengers. |

| Summary, etc. | Principale cible des attaques contre l’aviation civile à partir de la fin des années 1960, la compagnie israélienne El Al faisait l’objet d’une attention particulière dans tous les aéroports qu’elle desservait, dont, en France, l’aéroport d’Orly. La stratégie adoptée par la Police de l’air et des frontières pour assurer la sûreté des opérations d’El Al pouvait cependant entrer en opposition avec les besoins commerciaux de la compagnie, qui souhaitait éviter la mise en place d’un dispositif trop contraignant pour ses passagers. Cet exemple permet d’étudier la recherche de compromis pour établir les dispositions de sûreté aérienne tout en prenant en considération les besoins des compagnies, et notamment la prise en charge de leurs passagers. |
